Foundations for living

Since the foundation was established in 1981, Menschen für Menschen has helped more than four million Ethiopians to help themselves. Almaz and Karlheinz Böhm’s foundation organises ‘integrated rural projects’ that combine activities in the field of education, agriculture, infrastructure, water supply, health, women’s empowerment and social work. The agricultural projects assume a key position in all of this, since more than 80 per cent of Ethiopia’s population live from the land.

Working together with farmers, Menschen für Menschen organises simple but effective solutions that utilise natural resources without destroying them, and safeguard the foundations of life for their families.
